An organization must achieve integration, synchronization, and alignment of its action to ensure that everyone is working in a common direction to achieve the stated vision. At Organizational Harmony we use a modified CQI and Hoshin strategic planning process. We begin with assessment of the gap between the current reality and the organizations vision. Then planning occurs based on the culture of the organization, normally we recommend establishing parameters where bottom-up planning with top down refinement can occur. The act of establishing common direction and alignment can conflict with the individual’s need for a sense of control. Therefore, it is necessary to ensure employees and customers, are involved in establishing the direction, parameters, and objectives of the organization. This establishes ownership and a sense of control. It is also necessary to ensure that the individuals are given a continued sense of control and opportunities for innovation.
